Today, 2018-06-18, I went to Stanley Beach in Hong Kong to watch the Dragon Boat races. I arrived late, after 4 PM, but I still got to see a few races.
The races were really cool. A dragon boat is a special kind of Chinese boat which is basically like a really long rowboat or canoe, but with a dragon head at the front of the boat, and a dragon tail in the back of the boat.
Stanley Beach and the shopping area around Stanley beach is a really fantastic place which I would recommend for anyone visiting Hong Kong.
The Dragon Boat Festival is a public holiday in Hong Kong, so I had a day off of work today 😉 . Maybe I’ll see the boat races again next year in 2019.
